Director of Operations

With over two decades of experience in the construction industry, Russ has achieved success both in the field as a Superintendent and in the office as a Senior Safety Director. His journey led him to MSC Safety Solutions and the Colorado Crane Operator School in 2018, where he served as a crane and safety instructor. Recognizing an opportunity to drive transformative change in the safety culture at E&K of Denver in 2022, Russ took on a pivotal role before rejoining MSC, Inc as the Director of Operations at the beginning of 2024.

As a seasoned Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Russ is distinguished for his transformative leadership and entrepreneurial drive. His extensive background encompasses over 20 years of hands-on experience in fieldwork and upper-level management. Specializing in crane safety, he has successfully supervised teams on high-profile construction sites, ensuring efficiency, safety, and profitability.

Russ’s expertise extends across various critical areas, including in-depth knowledge of crane and rigging OSHA and ASME Standards, Safety Management Systems, Construction Management, Ergonomics, Contract Management, and Workplace Safety.

Originally from southern Missouri, Russ relocated to Colorado to pursue collegiate football. Despite a career shortened by injuries, he graduated from Colorado State University in 2000. Married to his college sweetheart, Russ is the proud parent of two energetic children who keep him actively engaged. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his family, manages a purebred Angus breeding program, and participates in a variety of outdoor activities.

A firm believer that one’s beliefs are the only obstacles to achieving goals, Russ emphasizes the power of changing one’s mindset to transform one’s life.
